She should come with a mute button

ESPN veteran Doris Burke revealed her opinion of LA Lakers center Deandre Ayton on Sunday. The Lakers hosted the New York Knicks at the Crypto.com Arena. Ayton, who’s been a major topic for the team, was criticized for his conditioning during a transition opportunity.

Luka Doncic was pressing the ball for a fastbreak opportunity when the Lakers possessed the ball. Along with Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura, his co-star Austin Reaves also made an effort to move rapidly into position. However, Ayton was left behind as he jogged back from the other side of the court.

During the play, Burke said this about the Lakers’ center.

“But you’re in transition, and he is again, it looked like he was winded.”

After what Burke said about the Bahamian center, fans on X roasted the ESPN broadcaster. Here are some of what the fans said online.

“Doris Burke is the most insufferable announcer of all time she should come with a mute button,” a fan said.

“I wish Doris Burke would stfu she makes my ears bleed,” another fan commented.

“having to listen to doris burke is truly hell,” one fan said.

However, some fans called out Ayton for his play and effort.

“How much flak is Deandre Ayton gonna get on this broadcast? Doris Burke beating a dead horse for the first 5 minutes straight,” someone commented.

NBA Writer Suggests a Pelicans Trade to Get Rid of Deandre Ayton

Deandre Ayton has struggled to develop chemistry with stars Luka Doncic and LeBron James. Although the two stars are some of the best floor generals, playing with them has not benefited Ayton.

The reason is mostly because of the lack of effort from DA. That is why the Lakers are urged to move on from the big man this summer. Lake Show Life’s Chris Lambert suggested that the team should trade Ayton to the New Orleans Pelicans. In exchange, Lambert said the franchise should target second-year big man Yves Missi.

“Missi should be there for the taking via trade with the Pelicans,” Lambert wrote on Thursday.

“If the Lakers are looking to maximize Doncic and move on from the Ayton experiment, they should look no further than Missi this summer. The second-year big man would give LA a younger, athletic center while also addressing their rebounding and rim protection problems.”

This season, Missi has been overshadowed by rookie center Derik Queen and veteran big man DeAndre Ayton. His numbers have gone down this year, averaging only 5.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. It was a significant drop from his rookie averages of 9.1 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 1.3 bpg.

Labert believes the Lakers can benefit from moving on from Deandre Ayton.
