Blockbuster announcement on Tommaso Ciampa’s immediate future in AEW

Tommaso Ciampa’s immediate future has been made official in AEW as he announced himself for a major upcoming match. The match will take place this Sunday at Revolution 2026.

Following his WWE departure in December 2025, Tommaso Ciampa made his AEW debut nearly two months ago. He won the TNT Championship on his in-ring debut in the company, but also lost it after nearly two weeks. Ciampa went on to turn heel by attacking Mark Briscoe last Saturday on Collision.

During the most recent episode of Collision, a promo package was aired with multiple stars announcing themselves for the blackjack battle royal for the AEW National title on the Revolution 2026 Zero Hour this Sunday. Ciampa was also featured in the package, as he said that he came here to take it all and vowed to capture the National title while announcing himself for the battle royal:

“I didn’t come to AEW to rekindle old friendship, not even for the TNT title. I came here to TAKE IT ALL. Next stop? National title!”

Tommaso Ciampa on his WWE exit

Tommaso Ciampa gained prominence during his time in the WWE’s NXT Black and Gold era. However, after a few years on the main roster, Ciampa decided to part ways with the company. Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Tommaso revealed he talked with Stamford-based promotion a few times before leaving and refused to say anything bad about the company:

“We chatted a handful of times in the last two or three months. I just needed to do what was right for my wife and me. I have not one bad word to say about WWE. They gave me an incredible opportunity and platform. Over the last 10 years, I learned a ton. I evolved a ton. It’s time for me to take all that and really apply it,” said Ciampa.

It will be interesting to see if Ciampa will win the blackjack battle royal this Sunday.
