BREAKING: WWE Could Cancel WrestleMania 42 Match

WWE could cancel a major WrestleMania 42 match according to reports. The Show of Shows is less than two weeks away, and the match card for both nights has been nearly finalized.

So far, 13 matches have been made official for the two-night extravaganza with multiple title matches and other big bouts confirmed. It is expected that WWE will add one more contest to the card in order to have seven matches on each night.

Recently, BodySlam+ reported that a grudge match between RAW superstars IYO SKY and Asuka is likely to be added to the show. The tension between the two stars has been building for a long time, and an in-ring confrontation has been teased.

But according to a new report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), the decision to have this match remains “up in the air.” The report mentions that the match was listed internally as of last week, but no official announcement has been made yet.

The report pointed to Asuka’s taped interview on RAW this week and SKY sharing a photo of the Allegiant Stadium on her social media as hints that WWE has been building to the match.

WON also noted that the decision may come down to how long the promotion wants the show to go on and how much time is reserved for the six matches on night two. The report did add that there is a possible plan that would see the match between The Empress of Tomorrow and Genius of the Sky take place at Backlash on May 9 instead of WrestleMania 42.

WWE could be waiting on Nikki Bella’s status before making a final decision

The Bella Twins are set to compete in a Fatal Four-Way match for the Women’s Tag Team championship at WrestleMania 42. However, Nikki Bella’s ankle injury could force the Triple H-led creative team to make a change.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer, the match between IYO SKY and Asuka hasn’t been made final yet due to uncertainty over Nikki’s injury.

He mentioned that the promotion could be forced to replace The Bellas with the Kabuki Warriors if the former Divas Champion isn’t cleared to compete at the Showcase of Immortals.
