Jasontheween responds to backlash for previously defending D4vd as singer gets charged with first-degree murder

Twitch streamer Jason “Jasontheween” has responded to the backlash for previously defending D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, by saying that “he f**ked up,” as the singer recently got charged with first-degree murder. For context, D4vd has been in the headlines since April 20, 2026, when he was charged with the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 14-year-old individual whose body was found in a Tesla registered in the musician’s name in September 2025.

According to reports, D4vd has been charged with first-degree murder under special circumstances, as well as lewd and lascivious sexual acts with a person under the age of 14.

During a livestream on April 21, 2026, Jasontheween’s attention was drawn to his live chatroom, where viewers mentioned that he previously defended D4vd.

Claiming to have defended the singer “before any evidence came out,” the former FaZe Clan member said:

“‘You defended him.’ I defended him before any f**king evidence came out. I shouldn’t have done that. I’ll say this over and over again, bro. I f**ked up. I’m never doing that again, bro.”

How did Jasontheween previously defend D4vd?

Jasontheween garnered attention last year, on September 11, 2025, when he commented on Celeste Rivas Herdandez’s body being discovered in the trunk of the Tesla registered in D4vd’s name, stating that the musician “didn’t kill anybody,” adding that he was “innocent until proven guilty”:

“Hey, I’mma say this right now – he didn’t kill anybody, bro. He didn’t kill anybody. There’s no way! There’s no way! He’s on tour. He didn’t kill anybody. He’s been on tour. He literally performed yesterday! Bro, do you see the videos that he makes? There is no way he is killing somebody! Either he was framed, or my theory is somebody killed someone and stole D4vd’s car, and left it in the trunk. But I’m also not a detective. So… innocent until proven guilty.”

On September 19, 2025, Jasontheween discussed the situation surrounding D4vd once again, stating that he “retracted” his defense of the singer:

“I want to retract my statement. Obviously, the other day, I was defending D4vd before all the new evidence came out. I do not condone anything that D4vd has done or is doing. Okay? That s**t is wicked, and it’s just unbelievable.”

In other news, Jasontheween stated during a recent Just Chatting livestream that he plans on taking legal action against X user @Kick_Champ after they claimed that he and Imane “Pokimane” are “directly involved with D4vd’s murder case.”
