A final update on Durant’s status is expected after he undergoes a pregame workout to test his left ankle. Houston coach Ime Udoka provided an optimistic update on Durant and affirmed that the two-time NBA champion is working around the clock to get fit for Game 4.

“Getting treatment still around the clock. I think there’s some soreness,” Udoka said. (Durant) pushed a lot of swelling out, but it will be a matter of if he can go. He’ll try it out, I’m sure, tomorrow morning and before the game. We don’t know his status yet.

“Every day that goes by, the likelihood goes up. I thought he might be ok yesterday based on shootaround, but it’s different going half-speed and ramping it up right before the game, so we can’t tell, but he’s doing everything he can to get back.”
The Rockets missed Durant in Game 3, especially when the inexperienced lineup choked under pressure. Durant has missed two out of the three games in this series, while in the only game he played, the veteran wing didn’t have a great outing.
