All serial killers in the GTA games and their history

Rockstar Games have always been excellent in creating all kinds of interesting side characters in the GTA series. This is why the Stranger and Freaks missions are some of the most popular ones in the franchise. One category of side characters is serial killers, who are often quite dangerous to encounter and are usually hostile towards players.

Here is the history of all fictional serial killers shown in the Grand Theft Auto series.

Merle Abrahams was a serial killer in GTA 5. Players do not get to meet or witness the murderer, but they get to know about him through a side-mission investigating one of his most iconic murder sprees.

According to the investigation that players can do, Merle Abrahams killed eight male joggers and hid their bodies in the water north of Paleto Bay. He was called “The Infinity Killer” since he was obsessed with the number 8, which he believes is just an infinity symbol standing upright. He was then arrested for his crimes.

Back in 2004, Merle Abrahams died while waiting for his trial. He never confessed to the murders, and the police were unable to find the eight dead bodies. This particular mystery can be uncovered by the player later in time.

Curtis Stocker is another unique yet disturbing serial killer who featured in GTA 4: The Lost and Damned. In the mission “Off Route,” Johnny Klebitz is tasked with freeing several white-collar criminals who are being transported in a prison bus.

In that bus, the player will also find Curtis Stocker, who will suddenly break free and eat a police officer. This clearly shows that Curtis Stocker is a serial killer who kills his victims and eats them.

The serial killer is also freed along with other white-collar criminals during the mission. This is also the last time the player ever hears about or sees Curtis Stocker.

This particular side character has been heavily inspired by Hannibal Lecter from the popular horror film The Silence of the Lambs.

Eddie Low is one of the most prominent serial killers in the franchise and was featured in GTA 4. He had a disturbing childhood since his father frequently abused and beat him. From an early age, Eddie was accustomed to killing people, starting with his father. Though he had an extreme Oedipus complex and loved his mother, he accidentally killed her too. However, he continues to keep her clothes and remember her.

By the time he was in high school, he became a proper serial killer, torturing, kidnapping, and killing his classmates and other school personnel.

During the events of GTA 4, Eddie Low meets Niko Bellic and tells him all kinds of bizarre stories, to the point where even the game’s protagonist felt extremely uncomfortable. Eventually, Eddie tries to kidnap and kill Niko as well. Players can then kill the serial killer.

While we are not able to see Merle Abrahams in GTA 5, we can witness the Los Santos Slasher serial killer in the multiplayer variant of the game. He is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto Online, but his real name is still unknown. He does not appear as a random NPC in the world. Rather, players are required to find five clues about the Slasher to find him.

When each clue is examined, players get a $5,000 and 2000 RP. After finding all five clues, players will get a text message from Slasher himself, threatening them for nosing around.

Following this, players can wait for the Slasher to spawn. The serial killer only spawns in the Blain County area between 7 pm and 5 am.

Marty Chonks is another extremely disturbing serial killer who was in GTA 3. He was the owner of the Bitch’n’ Dog Food Factory in Liberty City. He is married to Mrs. Chonks, who is cheating on him, and has a massive debt that he has to pay his bank.

During the events of the game, he hires Claude to use a bus to pick up various people and bring them to the factory. These people include Mrs. Chonks, the bank manager, and two burglars. When these people arrived at the dog food factory, Marty Chonks himself killed all four of them and turned them into dog food, which was extremely disturbing, specifically for a video game.

Later, he asks Claude to bring Carl, the man who had an affair with Mrs. Chonks, to the factory for a fight. However, Carl brought a shotgun and killed Marty Chonks.
