Former WWE champion sends a chilling message to Jon Moxley ahead of AEW Double or Nothing 2026

A former WWE champion may have rattled Jon Moxley fans by sending a chilling message to Mox ahead of tonight’s AEW Double or Nothing.

Jon Moxley is a name synonymous with the crème de la crème in All Elite Wrestling. The Purveyor of Violence has held a firm grip on the prestigious AEW Continental title since winning it at Worlds End 2025, defeating every challenger along the way. Tonight, Mox will defend his title at the pay-per-view, and his challenger is the dangerous Kyle’O Reily.

O’Reilly, a former three-time WWE NXT tag-team champion, seems to have the One True King’s number, having submitted him twice, once at Full Gear 2025 and again at Blood and Guts in the same year. In recent weeks, Moxley has been fixated on getting his retribution on the Violent Artist, leading to a Continental Eliminator title match between the two on Dynamite+Collision last Wednesday. The bout ended in a time-limit draw, making their match, this time for the championship, official for Double or Nothing tonight. Ahead of that match, the Conglomeration member sent a chilling message to Moxley via an Instagram post.

“I’ve been labeled “a dragon that must be slayed” by Mr Moxley. Meanwhile, he sits atop a mountain, hoarding gold while he eats and eats and eats leaving a wake of broken bodies behind. Dragon behavior much? I’m no mythical serpent, just a guy that’s found the damaged armor in Jon’s scales. A liberator, that has a legitimate claim to the Continental championship. I’m on a quest to win my first singles title in a decade; feels like I’ve been wandering a desert and gold is the only thing that will satiate my thirst. Sunday I will either quench that thirst or go out on my shield— a noble effort either way,” O’Reilly wrote.

On a separate note, ex-WWE star Tommaso Ciampa also made his intentions clear about holding the Continental Championship as part of his future goals in AEW. The former WWE Tag Team Champion and NXT Champion took to his Instagram Stories and posted a graphic featuring Moxley with one of his quotes, listing all the challengers vying for the belt across his waist.

By sharing it on his Instagram Stories, the Psycho Killer has officially declared his interest in winning the Continental Title. That said, it will be interesting to see whether he’ll have to face Moxley or O’Reilly for it at the conclusion of Double or Nothing 2026.
