The Division 2 Countdown game mode has been experiencing a new bug following the release of Y8S2 Into The Dark. Countdown is one of the most popular game modes, thanks to its easy-to-learn 8-player raid mechanics and high item drop rates. However, quite a few of the objectives in this raid require players to deal damage to gameplay elements specific to each Point of Interest.
A new bug has made these items immune to bullet damage, which resulted in players failing to complete the Countdown and obtain all requisition points.
In this article, we take a look at The Division 2 Countdown damage immune bug and shed light on a couple of workarounds.
The Division 2 Countdown damage immune bug and how to bypass it
More about the bug
The Division 2 Countdown damage immune bug shows up mostly during main objectives in the following POIs:
- Cooling Tower
- Containment
- Reactor

Here is a list of the gameplay elements that become damage-immune due to this bug:
- water pipe lids
- reactor core
- electrical boxes
Players started reporting this bug after the release of the Year 8 Season 2 Into The Dark update, which arrived on June 16, 2026.

How to bypass it?
In order to bypass The Division 2 Countdown damage immune bug, players must utilize the following items:
- The Sleigher
- Oxidizer Chem Launcher
The latter is a gadget that works well when you use skill tiers to boost its damage. The former is a Christman-themed named SMG that drops from loot goblins. Use these items to shoot the elements mentioned above that do not seem to take weapon damage. You will notice that the health bar of those specific items starts dropping normally.

You can use a regular DPS build like Striker’s with The Sleigher or go for a high-skill tier Core Strength build that features high weapon damage and armor alongside 6 skill tiers as main attributes to use the Oxidizer chem launcher.
Since Hunters in The Division 2 Countdown use EMPs, skills are not the best options in this raid experience. Therefore, equipping The Sleigher named SMG in the secondary slot is more effective overall.
