In-demand Ivory Coast sensation Yan Diomande, who has been a revelation in the FIFA World Cup, has opened up on his future amid interest from Liverpool and PSG. The 19-year-old has been one of the most exciting players in the FIFA World Cup so far, helping his side reach the Round of 32.
Ivory Coast finished second in Group E with six points behind Germany and will take on Norway in the Round of 32 on Tuesday, June 30. Amid the World Cup, Diomande has been one of the most discussed names in the transfer market with Liverpool and PSG linked with his services.
Thanks for the submission!
However, Diomande has claimed that he is not aware of rumors regarding his future. He has claimed that he is fully focused on the FIFA World Cup and is not even using the internet at the moment. He said, as quoted by Tribal Football:
“I don’t have the internet, Instagram, TikTok and that kind of thing, so regarding the discussions with my club it’s my agent that does that. It’s a great chance to play at the World Cup and I want to make the most of that. I remain focused on that and I really want to enjoy this World Cup as much as possible.”
Liverpool were heavily linked with Diomande as he emerged as their primary target to fill the void of the legendary Mohamed Salah. They saw their opening bid worth reported €100 million rejected by RB Leipzig.
It was later revealed that the Ivorian wants to join PSG and has already agreed a five-year deal with the back-to-back European champions. The youngster only joined RB Leipzig from Leganes last summer and scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 36 appearances in his debut season.
Robbie Fowler asks Liverpool to consider a move for FIFA World Cup winger
Liverpool icon Robbie Fowler has urged the Reds to sign FIFA World Cup star Christian Pulisic as a replacement for Mohamed Salah. The former England striker believes the USMNT international has experienced a similar pathway to Salah and could emulate the Egyptian at Anfield.
Fowler has said he is surprised that the AC Milan star has not emerged as an option for Liverpool as they look to replace Salah. He said:
“Plenty of rumours about as to who’s going to @LFC, one name I’ve not seen mentioned is pulisic… good age , played in the prem, exciting player , I’d take him, potentially a Salah type of pathway, thoughts?”
Pulisic is currently representing the USMNT at the 2026 FIFA World Cup where he has played only 77 minutes across two games. He has looked electric when he has been on the pitch and has provided one assist.
Aged 27 now, the former Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea attacker has always been destined for the top. However, he has been extremely unlucky with injuries throughout his career.
Pulisic played only 1804 minutes of football for AC Milan last season and scored 10 goals while producing four assists. His current deal with the Rossoneri expires in the summer of 2027.
