Prediction
The stage is set for one of the most intriguing series at MSI 2026: T1 v BLG, and it’s in round one. So right off the bat, one of these will fall to the lower bracket, which will be a nightmare for other losing teams in the upper bracket.
Despite coming in as the second seed of the LCK, T1 is a force to be reckoned with. The team obliterated every team in its path in the Play-Ins, all with a 3-0 scoreline.
The scariest prospect of the team has certainly been its bot lane duo of Peyz and Keria and how the overall teamplay revolves around them. Top laner Doran is great at playing weak side, and, taking that advantage, the mid-jungle of T1, Faker and Oner, timely rotate to the bot lane and support Peyz in any way possible to make him this super hypercarry who decimates the opponent in the mid-to-late game.
While this strategy from T1 worked quite well against the Play-In teams, as well as in the regional scene, it did falter against HLE in the Road to MSI 2026 due to several drafting issues. So, it’d be interesting to see if T1 can keep the same resilience when facing BLG in this highly coveted event.
BLG is currently pursuing the Golden Road. The team has already won two LPL splits and First Stand this year. Regarding BLG’s recent primary strength, it has been its solo laners, Bin and Knight. They are great at playing carry and utility champions, making minimal mistakes, and roaming efficiently.
That said, ADC Viper is yet to show its true potential. Although he has been decent and performed admirably at crucial times, the Viper fans know that love has not yet bloomed in BLG’s squad. Regardless, his support, ON, is currently in great form. His deep champion pool and clutch plays have been kind of at a similar level to Keria’s (this year).
All in all, the T1 vs BLG series is going to be competitive, and the result can go either way depending on the players’ form during the series. All 10 players are capable enough to change the tide of the series on their own, so it will be exciting to see who actually steps up on the occasion. Nevertheless, the current meta and recent form suggest that BLG should take the series after a tough battle.
