A top AEW star made an unfortunate announcement regarding his in-ring status. Former AEW World Tag Team Champions, the Young Bucks, have been one of the most decorated tag teams in the entire pro wrestling industry. After winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships three times in the Jacksonville-based promotion, they are trying to find their fourth win.
In the past three weeks, Matt and Nick Jackson have defeated top teams to reach to the top. At Forbidden Door, the duo defeated El Sky Team and Unbound Co. and might finally get a shot at the tag championships in the future. Unfortunately, the match was hard-hitting and full of dangerous moves. Matt and Nick Jackson survived some brutal finishers before winning the match.
Recently, the Young Bucks were streaming live on their YouTube channel, Being The Elite and taking questions from fans. During the stream, Nick Jackson claimed that he wasn’t cleared to wrestle then but will probably be back in the ring next week.
“No, I’m not cleared to wrestle today, but I’ll be cleared in maybe a week or so,” Nick said. [H/T – Wrestling INC.]
AEW stars Matt and Nick Jackson talked about collaborating with WWE
Forbidden Door is an interpromotional event where STARDOM, CMLL, ROH and NJPW collaborate to put on an extraordinary show. Despite All Elite Wrestling bringing in all these promotions, fans still wonder what would happen if WWE decides to compete with the Jacksonville-based promotion at the pay-per-view.
While speaking on Being the Elite, the Young Bucks claimed that a Forbidden Door with WWE would be ‘awesome’.
Matt: “Is there ever a chance to collab with WWE for… I missed the thing. Something about a future extended Forbidden Door would be groundbreaking.” Nick: “Oh, I think that would be awesome… You know, people say that’s the one thing that you could always… They say ‘never say never’ in this business, right?” Matt: “That might be a never though.” Nick: “It would be awesome. I would love to do that.”
It will be interesting to see what is next for the three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.
