WWE has now officially confirmed that another beloved star is leaving the company. This comes after there have been mass releases already this year with several long-time stars leaving the roster.
WWE has now confirmed that the star is gone from the company
Thanks for the submission!
Earlier today, it was reported that Sheamus’ time with WWE was at an end. The reports stated that the star had been offered a restructured contract with the company, but had turned it down. The amount was much smaller than his current contract. The star went on to confirm that his time with the company had come to an end as well, with him changing his social media information. He removed all mentions of the company from all social media, indicating that it was time for the next step in his career after decades with the company.
Now, WWE has officially confirmed on its website that Sheamus’ career in the company is over. They have made the change on the roster site, moving him from the active roster to the alumni section. This comes after mass releases earlier saw the New Day also leaving, as well as upwards of 20 stars.
Stars backstage are very upset, and his future remains undecided, but it’s clearly not going to be in the company. At 48 years of age, the star can still wrestle, but for the longest time, he has been dealing with injuries. Given that he has been out of action since November 2025 with an injury, it’s not clear if he will choose to keep wrestling, but it does seem that he’s not done, given that he changed his social media information to call himself a pro wrestler and didn’t make any announcement.
A statement from the star himself is yet to appear, but when he does break his silence, it should make his plans clear. AEW‘s MJF and Ricochet have already made overtures at a feud, but for now, fans wait.
