Aaron Hernandez’s cousin Davina grows emotional over 20-year memories with late ex-Patriots TE

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez’s cousin Davina, remembered the late NFL star in her latest social media post over the weekend.

Davina, a softball coach and former Division I athlete, shared her Facebook memory of the late NFL star in her Instagram post. The post had a picture of her with Aaron from 20 years ago.

“Those Facebook memories sometimes hit you like a ton of bricks,” she captioned her post. “20 years ago on the 4th. Two full decades ago! When you’re young, you don’t realize “the good ole days” were actually the good ole days. You don’t realize how reading “Try Then and Now Template” cuts deep knowing there is no “now.”

“You don’t realize you’ll miss making s’mores.. and everytime you burn your marshmallows to a crisp..you think of your loved one . Hug your loved ones tight y’all, cus you just never know.”

Davina Hernandez clarifies emotional post for late Patriots star

Aaron Hernandez, regarded as a gifted athlete, was troubled by off-field issues during his three seasons with the Patriots. He was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd in 2013.

He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 2015. He committed suicide in his Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center cell in April 2017.

Davina Hernandez clarified that her post isn’t meant to disrespect the people affected by Hernandez.

“And I’m just going to add this for clarification because this always seems to come up…sharing this memory means no disrespect to anyone. I will continue to pray for everyone affected by this situation.”
