Jey Uso reacts to CM Punk becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion on RAW

CM Punk’s win on WWE RAW has caught the pro wrestling world by surprise, and it appears that Jey Uso shares a similar sentiment.

The Second City Saint has been a central player in the Stamford-based promotion. since his return in 2023. Over the last few years, he has had several standout matches and won a slew of titles. After losing the Heavyweight championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42, it was expected that he would be back before SummerSlam. But few thought that he would bag the Undisputed WWE title right on his return in the match with Sami Zayn.

Jey Uso was one of the many who were surprised, judging by his recent post on X. The veteran star reacted with a single emoji that showcased his disapproval.

It should be noted that Jey Uso has been rivals with Punk before. The two had faced off at Saturday Night’s Main Event in November last year, with the World Heavyweight Title at stake. The Second City Saint had managed to pull off a win after more than 20 minutes of a gruelling fight.

AWWE veteran was not pleased with Sami Zayn becoming champion

While Jey Uso was quite pleased to see Sami Zayn become the Undisputed WWE Champion and unhappy to see him drop the title, Vince Russo has a different perspective.

The veteran recently spoke about the decision to put the belt on Zayn at Night of Champions, claiming it was a bad decision. Speaking on The Coach and Bro show, Russo said:

“Look how the wrestlers react. Look at what they say. To say the guy’s been in the industry for 13 years and he deserves it? Bulls**t, bro. Sami Zayn didn’t win anything. You know how many guys have been in the business for 13 years? 17 years? 20 years? 25 years? Mr. Perfect and Scott Hall d*ed without ever winning a WWE World title. When wrestlers sound like marks, it’s freaking embarrassing to me. Sami earned what? He worked harder than all the other wrestlers you see out there working? Really? This, to me, is an absolute joke. It’s not about business anymore,” Russo said.

For now, what Sami Zayn plans to do ahead remains a mystery.
