57-year-old star blames Triple H for scrapped WWE WrestleMania return plans

A 57-year-old star has blamed Triple H for scrapped WrestleMania return plans. The Game has been in charge of the company’s creative for the last few years and has made decisions leading to the return of some big names.

The likes of CM Punk, AJ Lee, Paige, and a few others have found their way back to WWE under HHH. But according to former Brood member Gangrel, Triple H scrapped plans for a possible return and reunion with Edge at WrestleMania 39.

Edge faced “Demon” Finn Balor at WrestleMania 39 and made a special Brood entrance. Before the event, there was a lot of speculation on Gangrel making an appearance for the match.

Speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Gangrel addressed the rumors that Vince McMahon was behind his return being scrapped. Gangrel, who teamed up with Edge and Christian during the Attitude Era, said he believes it was Triple H, not Vince, who made the decision.

“I’m not sure, but I think maybe it might have been Hunter. Some people said Vince, but I think it might have been Hunter. Somebody kiboshed it,” he said.

Gangrel said that since Edge didn’t get his way in WWE, he helped him come back to AEW in 2024.

“So when that didn’t go down, he left the next year to AEW. Then he wanted to make sure that he’s a guy that wants to have his way. Don’t tell him no on something, he’s gonna figure it out. So in AEW, he had me come back and come up to the ring and stuff like that,” he added.

Gangrel showed up at AEW Double or Nothing and helped Adam Copeland retain his TNT Championship by rising through the ring during the barbed wire steel cage match against Malakai Black.
