Liverpool have made an initial approach to explore a deal for AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche this summer, as per reports. The Reds are in the market for attacking reinforcement, with coach Andoni Iraola specifically speaking about the need for a new winger.
A report from Sky Sports (via Foot Mercato) has revealed that the Reds have entered into the race to sign Akliouche, joining European champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The 24-year-old is almost certain to leave his boyhood club this summer, and Liverpool hope to tempt him with an Anfield switch.

Akliouche has been strongly linked with a move to PSG, but the French side have failed with multiple bids, the latest of which was around €40 million, for the forward. Their delay in completing the sale of Kang-In Lee to Atletico Madrid has also played a part in their inability to complete a move for the France international, at the moment.
Liverpool are looking to bring in a right winger to replace Mohamed Salah, who left the club at the end of his contract earlier this summer. They were strongly linked with Yan Diomande and submitted a bid for him, but their bid was rejected by RB Leipzig and the player himself has expressed his desire to represent PSG, instead.
Iraola’s side have already signed Spain international Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but are intent on adding another wide player in this transfer window. Akliouche is a name that features on their list now, and they will take steps to convince the young forward to join them this summer.
Liverpool conclude deal for talented teenager
Liverpool have concluded a deal for the transfer of highly-rated attacking midfielder Samuel Martinez from Colombian outfit Nacional. The 17-year-old will remain in Colombia until 2027, and will join the Reds once he turns 18.
Martinez was the star of the CONMEBOL U-17 Championship earlier this year, earning rave reviews for his performances for Colombia. His displays forced the Reds to fork out a reported £750,000 for his signature amid interest from a number of other sides.
Liverpool have invested heavily in a player who is yet to play a minute of senior football at any level. He will feature for Colombia in the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year, and the Reds will keep a very close eye on his development, going forward. The signing of the youngster is in keeping with the club’s strategy that brought in the likes of Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni as teenagers.
