Final Fantasy XIV features a quest called Where Eagles Nest, which leads players to the Bozjan Southern Front. One of the big content updates from the Shadowbringers expansion, players who are newer to the game may never have experienced this content. However, thanks to the First Hunt for Astronomy Moogle Tomestone event, players are returning to this location, and aren’t clear on how to get in.
If you skipped Bozja, or are new to Final Fantasy XIV and want to jump in because you don’t like fishing, I’m here to get you through Where Eagles Nest quickly and easily. The Bozjan Fronts were fantastic, and if you want to access it for your Minimog Challenges, here’s what you need to know.
How to complete Where Eagles Nest in Final Fantasy XIV
In order to begin Where Eagles Nest in Final Fantasy XIV, you need to have the Shadowbringers expansion, and complete the Main Scenario Quest Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty from patch 5.1. If you’ve at least completed the Shadowbringers Main Scenario Quests, it’s likely that you’ve gotten this far. You also need to have completed a few optional quests:
- The City of Lost Angels: The Prima Vista Tiring Room (5.9, 5.9)
- Hail to the Queen: Kugane (12.2, 12.3)
- Path to the Past: Yanxia (16.3, 8.3)
- The Bozja Incident: Rhalgr’s Reach (11.8, 11.8)
- Fire in the Forge: Gangos (6.3, 5.0)

This means you need to complete the Return to Ivalice raids. You can see the starting locations for these quests in the bullet points above. Not only that, you need to begin the Shadowbringers Relic Weapon quest chain. Completing Fire in the Forge will give you access to Where Eagles Nest.
Once you’ve accepted Where Eagles Nest (Gangos, 6.4, 5.7), you’ll need to speak with Marsak to begin the quest. They will then send you to Sjeros to have a chat. He isn’t too far away from you in Gangos (5.5, 5.4). If you haven’t been to Gangos in a while, you can return here by visiting the Doman Enclave, and use the Airship Pilot (8.3, 8.9).
After a short chat, you’ll be able to Make for the Bozjan Southern Front and speak with Bajsaljen. The game will then explain what you do in The Bozjan Southern Front.
Once inside, attune to the Aetheryte, and then speak to Bajsaljen. After the cutscene, speak with Bajsaljen again. Next will be a conversation with Mikoto, and then you’ll be done with this quest! With Where Eagles Nest complete in Final Fantasy XIV, you’ve got access to the Bozjan Southern Front.
How to complete Skirmishes in Final Fantasy XIV’s Bozjan Southern Front

One of the Minimog Challenges for The First Hunt for Astronomy requires players to complete 5 Skirmishes in The Bozjan Southern Front. For players who aren’t keen on fishing, this is another option that’s available to you.
Skirmishes are very easy to take part in, thankfully. They’re the same thing as FATEs in the regular world. Don’t hesitate to use the /shout channel to see if anyone’s running Skirmishes in Bozja, or just run out and see for yourself. If you open the map, you’ll see all the Skirmishes currently ongoing. As long as you do your part for the Skirmishes objectives, you’ll get credit!
