CM Punk Makes WWE History, Breakthrough Moment For Bron Breakker?

The 2026 Money in the Bank Premium Live Event is shaping up to be one of WWE’s most unpredictable shows of the year. The Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match features a fascinating mix of established superstars and up-and-coming talents looking for a career-changing moment.

The six-man ladder match includes CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Kevin Owens, Trick Williams, Penta, and Je’Von Evans. With so many possible directions, WWE could end the match in several ways. Could The Second City Saint make history again? Could The Unpredictable Badass finally get his breakthrough? Or could WWE surprise everyone with a completely unexpected winner?

With that in mind, here are five possible finishes for this year’s Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

#5. Trick Williams could shock everyone

WWE has spent considerable time building Trick, and the Money in the Bank briefcase could be the next major step in his career. The finish could see CM Punk, seemingly moments away from winning. Punk climbs the ladder while the other competitors are down. Suddenly, Trick Williams pushes the ladder over, causing Punk to crash to the canvas. Williams then grabs another ladder, climbs to the top, and pulls down the briefcase.

This would immediately establish Williams as a serious threat to WWE’s top stars. It would also give WWE a fresh Money in the Bank story instead of repeating the same established names winning the contract.

#4. Kevin Owens potentially stealing the briefcase for the win

Never count out The Prizefighter. Kevin Owens has the experience and personality needed to make the Money in the Bank contract interesting. WWE could use him as the perfect opportunist in a match filled with younger competitors.

The finish could see everyone battling at the top of multiple ladders. CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Penta, and Trick Williams are all taken out spectacularly. Once everyone is down, Owens climbs the ladder, knocks Je’Von Evans off, and grabs the briefcase.

KO could then promise he won’t wait for the perfect moment. He could cash in whenever he wants, potentially setting up a major title program.

#3. Bron Breakker could finally get his breakthrough moment

If WWE wants to establish Bron Breakker as a future main-event superstar, this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Unpredictable Badass has already demonstrated that he can hang with established names. He qualified for the match by defeating Rey Mysterio and Ethan Page, finishing their contest with a Spear to Mysterio. A strong finish could involve Breakker destroying everyone in his path.

After several spectacular ladder spots, Breakker could hit a devastating Spear on Penta. He then throws Je’VOn Evans off the ladder, climbs the remaining steps, and pulls down the briefcase for the win. The visual would be simple but powerful, with Breakker standing on top of the ladder with the Money in the Bank briefcase. That could officially signal that WWE sees Breakker as a future world champion.

#2. Penta could be hailed as this year’s Mr. Money in the Bank

Penta could be the wild card in this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. His unpredictable style and experience in high-risk matchups make him a natural fit for the chaos of the ladder match.

One possible finish would see CM Punk and Bron Breakker battling near the top of the ladder while Kevin Owens, Trick Williams, and Je’Von Evans are down around the ring. Just when it looks like Punk or Breakker is about to grab the briefcase. Penta climbs from the opposite side.

Penta could knock both men down, deliver a Cero Miedo moment from the ladder, and then slowly climb back up to claim the briefcase. A Penta victory would give WWE another interesting direction. Instead of cashing in, Penta could use the briefcase to play mind games with the champion, appearing at random moments and constantly reminding him that a title match could happen at any time.

#1. CM Punk could make Money in the Bank history

Another possibility is a history-making scenario involving CM Punk.

Punk already has a unique connection to the Money in the Bank concept. He became the first WWE Superstar to win the ladder match twice when he captured the briefcase at WrestleMania 25 in 2009 following his 2008 victory. A third win would therefore give The Second City Saint another incredible record.

The finish could see Punk and Kevin Owens fighting at the top of the ladder while Bron Breakker is recovering at ringside. Punk knocks Owens off, reaches for the briefcase, and appears to have won it. Breakker then suddenly returns and tries to stop him.

Punk manages to kick Breakker away, pulls down the briefcase, and becomes Mr. Money in the Bank for an unprecedented third time. He could immediately raise that major question: when will he cash in?
