UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Ramon Suzara visited Filipino Volleyball Athlete Development (FVAD) UAE for a courtesy meeting with its founder and chairman, Mark Gil Mamac, highlighting the importance of grassroots development and community-led initiatives in expanding volleyball opportunities across Asia.

Mamac, a national referee of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), welcomed AVC President Suzara for a dialogue focused on the Filipino volleyball community in the United Arab Emirates and opportunities to strengthen youth development and competitive standards.

The meeting recognized the role of Filipino volleyball organizations in promoting the sport beyond the Philippines, particularly through community activities that bring together athletes, coaches, referees and volleyball enthusiasts.

Discussions centered on creating more opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and pursue higher levels of participation in volleyball.

The visit also highlighted the contributions of community-based organizations such as FVAD UAE in sustaining interest in volleyball and providing opportunities for Filipinos living overseas to remain actively involved in the sport.

For AVC President Suzara, strengthening grassroots participation remains an important part of developing volleyball across the continent, complementing efforts to improve national programs and international competitions.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to recognize the dedication of volunteer coaches, referees and community organizers whose efforts help make volleyball accessible to more participants.

FVAD UAE expressed its appreciation for the visit, describing the recognition from continental volleyball leadership as a source of motivation for its athletes, coaches and referees.

The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between volleyball organizations and local communities in developing talent, encouraging youth participation and strengthening the sport’s presence throughout Asia.
