Massive update on 13-time champion’s future following surprise WWE appearance [Reports]


There has been a huge update following a former WWE champion’s surprise return. The promotion is on the road to WrestleMania 42 next month in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to a new report from PWInsider, William Regal’s appearance on NXT last night was not a one-off. The legend showed up alongside Fit Finlay during a storyline involving their sons, Charlie Dempsey and Uriah Connors.

The report noted that Regal had not been seen at the WWE Performance Center for a while before his NXT return this week. It was also disclosed that the legend had been off the road for some time as well. PWInsider’s report shared that William Regal and Fit Finlay are expected to appear on NXT television regularly moving forward.

William Regal spent some time in All Elite Wrestling in 2022 and was briefly the leader of the Blackpool Combat Club faction before his return to WWE in 2023. The legend also used to serve as the General Manager of NXT.

Popular AEW star Kenny Omega responded to William Regal’s warning following Worlds End 2025 last year.

During the event last year, Jon Moxley hit a dangerous move on Kyle Fletcher and Regal called it out on social media. Omega responded to the veteran and thanked him.

“This is about a general awareness and a knowing that the cost of what we do is directly related to the amount and severity of risk(s) that we take. Keeping that in mind, as athletes, we aren’t all created equally. As responsible adults, we need to be realistic and know our own physical limits. I’d have to give my head a shake if I wanted to try a twisting shooting star, but I’d never say a word to Pac. I look at this all as great food for thought. Something to always be cognizant of.
