Natalya slapped Cody Rhodes; shocking WWE confession

Cody Rhodes dropped a shocking confession about getting slapped by Natalya back then. The Undisputed WWE Champion opened up on the hardest slaps he has ever received.

The American Nightmare knows a thing or two about getting slapped, especially after he suffered a black eye and a busted eardrum at last year’s Elimination Chamber. Rhodes received a huge hit from Travis Scott, who wasn’t a trained pro wrestler.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on the latest episode of Insight, Cody Rhodes ranked Scott’s slap as the third hardest he has ever taken. It was behind Natalya and Hardcore back in his early days as a WWE Superstar.

“That is not the hardest I’ve ever been slapped. That’s number three. That’s number three. I’ll give you the list of slaps. Number two, Bob Holly in London. … The number one might shock you, but I felt it in both of my heels. I felt it in my feet. I had to plant my feet. It was so hard. Nattie Neidhart hit me. It felt like an MLB batter swinging the bat, and I walked into it. She leveled me,” Rhodes said. [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]

In the same interview, Cody Rhodes also absolved Travis Scott from total blame for his injuries at Elimination Chamber last year. Rhodes explained that the black eye and busted eardrum were caused by the collective efforts of Scott, The Rock and John Cena.

Cody Rhodes sends message about WrestleMania 42 amid backlash of Undisputed WWE Championship win

Plenty of people online were not happy that Cody Rhodes defeated Drew McIntyre last week on SmackDown to become a three-time Undisputed WWE Champion. The win meant that Rhodes would defend the title against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42.

Amid the backlash, The American Nightmare has a message to the fans regarding this year’s WrestleMania.

“What I think you’re going to get from this year’s WrestleMania is you have two main events with Roman and Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship and myself and Randy, and the show that’s filling out with Stephanie and Liv and the show that you’re seeing kind of come together, because these matches are starting to become obvious what they are. I think bell to bell, you’re going to get one of the better Manias ever, and I really, really like being part of that WrestleMania,” Rhodes said. [H/T chrisvanvliet.com]

Rhodes and Orton are set to meet this Friday to make their match at WrestleMania 42 official via a contract signing.
