Ramadan is one of the most sacred months in the Islamic calendar, and Nabil Anane doesn’t see any issues with observing the fast during fight camp.
The 21-year-old ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion is preparing for his first title defense against Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon, which takes place at ONE Friday Fights 147 inside Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, March 20.
Rather than viewing the timing as a disadvantage, the Team Mehdi Zatout martial artist has restructured his entire training schedule around it. Nabil Anane has shifted his training sessions to late at night, while he also grinds himself in the early hours of the morning shortly before the fasting window resumes.
In a pre-fight interview with the organization, the ONE world champion explained his daily routine, sharing:

“We train in the evening before Maghrib. Then, after we break fast, we wait a little bit and train again at night from around 11 p.m. or midnight until 2 in the morning. When it’s time, I just drink water and eat some dates, and I keep training,” the 21-year-old slugger shared.
The discipline required to maintain that kind of output while fasting through the day speaks volumes about the mindset that elevated the young star to the top of the bantamweight division.
He brings a nine-fight undefeated run into his title defense against Rambolek at ONE Friday Fights 147.
Regian Eersel responds to Nabil Anane’s interest in potential superfight
ONE lightweight Muay Thai world champion Regian Eersel has heard Nabil Anane call out his name, and the Surinamese slugger is open to locking horns against the Thai-Algerian phenom.
Eersel, who defends his 26 pounds of gold against Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong in the main event of ONE Fight Night 42, had this to say on a potential showdown with the bantamweight Muay Thai king during a recent interview with the promotion.
“First of all, he called my name out in the media and said he wants to fight me. I thought maybe in months, not in two or three years. But later he said in another interview, it’s going to take two or three years. I’m here, so I’ll just wait,” Regian Eersel told ONE Championship during an exclusive one-on-one interview.
