A lot of stars from AEW have jumped ship to WWE and vice-versa over the past few years. The rival companies see this happen more than often as stars join the rival company when they notice that they’re not getting properly booked. The current AEW World Champion MJF recently revealed why a lot of fans want him to join the competition.
All Elite Wrestling was formed in 2019 by a group called The Elite involving Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks. The promotion became a much newer alternative to the Stamford-based company’s product and exposed wrestling fans to many fresh faces. One such name was MJF who was one of the first stars to get signed by All Elite Wrestling.
The Salt of the Earth recently turned 30 and is already a two-time World Champion in the company. He’s currently in his second reign and has already defended the gold in some great matches against the likes of Hangman Adam Page and Brody King. While speaking on the Klein Ally Show, MJF revealed why a lot of fans want to see him work for AEW’s rival company.
“As far as people wanting me to go to WWE—WWE fans want me to go to WWE because they know that I’m the biggest thing in wrestling, and they’re desperate to have me on their programming,” he said. [H:T/RingsideNews]
Former WWE creative team member Road Dogg recently confirmed that the company was interested in signing Max but the deal never materialized. However, it doesn’t look like the Salt of the Earth will leave the Tony Khan led promotion anytime soon.
MJF will face Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty 2026 just a week before WWE WrestleMania 42
The Showcase of the Immortals is just a few days away and will feature CM Punk defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. On the other hand, fans are getting ready to see the God of Professional Wrestling and the Devil square off for the AEW World Championship at Dynasty.
After Kenny Omega defeated Swerve Strickland on Dynamite few weeks ago to become the New #1 Contender for MJF’s title, it was clear that the company was planning a big main event for Dynasty. The show is set to take place this Sunday, just a few days before WrestleMania 42.
It is clear that the fans will be comparing the special events from both companies once they’re done. It will be exciting to see which event will draw the most number of fans.
