The 2026 edition of the T20 Mumbai league came to a close on Saturday, June 13, with the MSC Maratha Royals successfully defending their title after a tense final against the ARCS Andheri. The defending champions emerged winners by eight runs to script back-to-back titles.
Taking place right after the culmination of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, and with months to go until the next mini auction, the T20 Mumbai League has a lucrative window where scouts are on high alert. With IPL franchises desperate to add talent in any way shape or form after a campaign, the work begins in the off-season itself, with domestic T20 leagues have been a reliable platform to choose players from.
On that note, let us take a look at the five players from the T20 Mumbai League who scouts must keep an eye on for IPL 2027.
#1 Ayush Vartak
The 21-year-old’s talents have been raved about by the operators in the Mumbai cricketing circle, and for a good season. The youngster was reportedly called up by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a mid-season trial this year, and the way he played in the T20 Mumbai 2026, is all the more reason for the scouts to keep an even closer eye ahead of the crucial auction.
Ayush Vartak scored 154 runs in six matches at an average of 30.80 and a strike rate of 165.59. Capable of bowling as well, the hard-hitting middle-order batter can be a valuable resource for any franchise, especially if groomed well. He underwent his CSK trials under the observant eyes of MS Dhoni, and with a domestic call-up inevitable, and IPL contract could also be on the way soon, given how valuable uncapped players are considered these days.
#2 Jay Sanjay Jain
The 23-year-old left-handed batter smashed the most number of sixes in the T20 Mumbai 2026 tournament. Smashing 16 sixes across five matches, over half of his entire tournament run tally came through maximums. He also finished with the highest batting average (57.67), among batters who recorded over 150 runs in the season. Furthermore, he finished with the fifth-highest strike rate (182.11) in the tournament.
In the tournament opener, he smashed six sixes in his 21-ball 45 to top-score for his team against the Eagle Thane Strikers. Jay was also named player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten 24-ball 49 in a tense run chase against the Triumphs Knights MNE, which included five sixes.
#3 Suved Parkar
Captain of the Bandra Blasters, the 25-year-old Suved Parkar, had a campaign to remember. He was named player of the tournament for his 250 runs in five matches at an average of 50.00 and a strike rate of 161.29. He slammed a memorable ton in the team’s second match of the season, which ended up being the highest score in the entire tournament.
Suved Parkar had come into the spotlight after scoring a stunning 252 on his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai against Uttarakhand in the quarter-final of the 2022 edition. He recently made a comeback to the Mumbai first-class setup, scoring fifties in both appearances towards the 2025-26 season. His resurgence, coupled with his undeniable numbers in the T20 Mumbai 2026, will keep him on the radar of the ever-vigilant scouts ahead of the auction.
#4 Prasoon Singh
The 17-year-old emerging talent is one to watch out for as he comes across as a classical, old-school off-spinner. Picking up nine wickets in six matches, he had an economy of 6.33 after bowling 15 overs, marking the fourth-best economy rate in the entire tournament.
He chipped in with a match-winning spell of 3-22 for the Shivam Dube-led ARCS Andheri during the nine-wicket win over Eagle Thane Strikers. Prasoon Singh was also the youngest player in the entire competition, making him a strong target among scouts in the near future.
#5 Shashwat Jagtap
The 23-year-old was the star of the show to kick-start T20 Mumbai 2026 after slamming a hundred in the season opener against the Bandra Blasters. He was only one of the three batters to score over 100 runs with an average of over 50 in the season.
Shashwat Jagtap finished with 152 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 180.95, the third-highest among batters with a minimum of 150 runs. He was part of the MSC Maratha Royals team that won the title last season, but had failed to make an appearance back then. However, after a solid season, the opening batter could be a target among the scouts before the massive IPL auction.
