CANDON CITY, Philippines – Vietnam secured the bronze medal at the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026 after defeating Kazakhstan in straight sets (25-17, 25-12, 25-19) at the Candon City Arena in Ilocos Sur, Philippines on Sunday.
Vietnam delivered a dominant performance throughout the bronze medal match, controlling the pace from the opening set and showcasing their consistency on both offense and defense. The victory capped off a strong campaign for the Southeast Asian side, who rebounded from their semifinal disappointment to finish on the podium.
The Vietnamese squad established its rhythm early in the contest, taking the first set 25-17 before raising the intensity in the second set, where they limited Kazakhstan to just 12 points. Despite a determined effort from Kazakhstan in the third set, Vietnam maintained its composure and closed out the match 25-19 to complete the straight-sets victory.
The win earned Vietnam the bronze medal and a place among the top three teams of the tournament, highlighting the nation’s continued growth and competitiveness on the Asian stage.
Kazakhstan, meanwhile, concluded its campaign in fourth place after reaching the bronze medal match.
The AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup 2026 brought together 12 teams from across the continent for nine days of competition in Candon City, with Asia’s leading national teams competing for continental honors and valuable international experience.
