A World Without Gold is a new chapter added with the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced release, but was not available in the original. It includes a total of seven quests, revolving around Robert Maynard and his pursuit of destroying the pirate groups of the Caribbean. You can also recruit a new officer while doing the chapter.
With that said, here are the details on how to complete the full A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
How to start the A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced (and its location)
If you’re interested in taking part in the newly added A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you must progress to complete Sequence 11 in the main story. The quest you need to complete is called Everything is Permitted.
Afterward, the A World Without Gold questline can be tracked in the Quest Log section, and its first quest is: That Bastard Maynard. To start the mission, navigate to the Great Inagua Tavern and select the Wait prompt.
A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: Walkthrough
That Bastard Maynard quest
After waiting at the Great Inagua Tavern, a cutscene will showcase Robert Maynard arriving there and threatening Edward and his crew. When the cutscene ends, walk with Anne Bonny to the Jackdaw and enter the cabin.
Not Even a Real Captain quest
Search for Maynard
In this quest, fast-travel to Kingston and proceed to its western segment, specifically near the viewpoint. From there, you can find a barn nearby, where you have to look for three clues.
Investigate the barn (find three clues)
Next, head towards the barn and shoot the barrel to eliminate multiple enemies. You can also sneak your way to the upper section of the building. Then, follow these steps:
- Take out the guard up there, then double-assassinate the two on the ground. With this, you will get the first clue.
- From there, go south to find the next clue on the barn wall.
- Exit using the same way you used before, and find the third clue near a wooden cart.
- Sneak towards the seashore and get out of the restricted zone to fast travel to the Jackdaw.
This concludes the Not Even a Real Captain quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s A World Without Gold chapter.
What the Devil! quest
Note: Before starting this quest, make sure to have a fully upgraded Jackdaw. Even if you’re unable to upgrade everything, prioritize the Broadside Cannons, the Hull, and the Heavy Shot capability. What the Devil! quest, as well as another mission in the A World Without Gold chapter, consists of extremely difficult naval combat. So, it’s better to stay prepared.
Locate the HMS Demolition
The first part of the What the Devil! quest is to find the HMS Demolition ship. To do that, you need to fast-travel to Cat Island (Eleuthera region), then sail north for a bit to find the Man o’ War named HMS Demolition.
Board the HMS Demolition
Next, follow the ship for a while, and you will encounter the whole fleet supporting it. You can create space first and take out the weaker ships first. Make sure to use the mortar in between to keep on damaging the HMS Demolition. Board the ship after winning the naval combat. After that,
- You can use the lift to go to the top and cut the flag, which significantly decreases morale.
- Kill the enemies.
- Ignite the explosives around the ship.
With this, the What the Devil! quest will come to an end, and you will also meet one of the Jackdaw officers, Tobias “Deadman” Smith.
It’s a Start quest
First, fast travel to Great Inagua and head to the Manor. Reach the objective location and choose the Wait prompt to speak with Anne Bonny. Your next task is to interact with the Jackdaw officers and Deadman.
Mingle with the crew (speak to the officers around the villa)
Navigate towards the west to find the Padre, where you need to transport a box of rum for him. Carry it and follow him to the required location. Afterward, you need to defeat two crew members in a fist fight.
When done, head to the eastern segment to find Lucy Baldwin. After speaking with her, you need to shoot the dummy targets at her command. Here is the order:
- Shoot three targets in the middle.
- Shoot three targets on the left.
- Shoot three targets on the right.
Afterward, proceed towards the seashore in the west to find Deadman by the beach, which will trigger a cutscene.
Address the crew
Return to the Manor, get inside, and go through the cutscenes to complete the It’s a Start quest. This also recruits Deadman as an officer for Jackdaw in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
I Just Want to Talk quest
You can start either of the two quests, I Just Want to Talk and Not Our Natural Allies, in this part, and I’ve opted for the former during my playthrough. First, fast travel to Nassau and head to the Tavern. Next, speak with Lucy Baldwin there to start the quest.
Kill Maynard’s Treasurer in Nassau
Proceed to the southwest part of Nassau to find the Treasurer talking to several Templars. You can use a smoke bomb there to assassinate the target, loot his body, and evade the area efficiently. Furthermore, you can also use your pistol to kill him, then use a smoke bomb to loot the body. You will receive a letter from Maynard doing this.
Speak to Lucy
Return to the Jackdaw’s location, but you cannot fast travel from this point. Run towards the objective area and speak with Lucy, then take the wheel of the Jackdaw to complete the I Just Want to Talk quest.
Not Our Natural Allies quest
To begin this quest, fast-travel to Santanillas, or if you haven’t unlocked the location yet, you can sail there from Tulum, Conttoyor. Santanillas is located in the southeast part of the map, in the Chinchorro region. After reaching there, speak with the Padre to begin the Not Our Natural Allies quest.
Form up with Spanish allies and sink Maynard’s armada
After getting on the ship, proceed northeast to find some friendly Spanish ships. With their help, you then have to win a naval battle against Maynard’s ally fleet. Take them one by one, and board the ships if needed to repair the Jackdaw. After winning the battle, a cutscene will be triggered and mark the end of the Not Our Natural Allies quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

A Cockalorum quest
In the next quest of A World Without Gold, you need to manually sail to Tortuga. After docking at the marked location, reach the land and follow Lucy to the next objective location.
Reach the villa
Afterward, you can take the right-side pathway among the bushes to navigate towards the villa. This area is heavily guarded, so it’s better to go into stealth mode. Regardless, getting caught won’t be a mission failure. Once you reach the villa, you need to find three clues.
Search for Maynard’s treasure
First, go to the ground-floor room and examine the leopard to find the first clue. Next, head upstairs from outside and examine Maynard’s portrait on the wall. Lastly, check the letter near the barrel for the final clue.
When the subsequent cutscene ends, exit through the window and run towards the Jackdaw and sail north to escape the area. However, you also need to sink the ambusher ships. More enemy ships will come, which you have to defeat. As mentioned before, these naval battles are extremely hard, so it’s recommended to have a fully upgraded Jackdaw.
After defeating all the enemy ships, another cutscene will start, and the A Cockalorum quest will come to an end.

A World Without Gold quest
The final mission of the chapter, named A World Without Gold, requires Edward and the crew to face Maynard at Port Royal. Fast travel to Port Royal or Kingston, then head to the objective marker to trigger a cutscene and start the quest. Next, you need to complete the following objectives:
1) Destroy the cannon with Deadman
First, reach the objective marker one and speak with Deadman, then start following him. Then, eliminate all the warehouse guards to progress.
2) Sabotage the gunpowder with Lucy
Afterward, head to the second objective marker and speak with Lucy Baldwin. Follow her sneakily using the bushes, and from there, shoot at the explosives to kill the guards and sabotage the gunpowder at the same time. Destroy the rest to advance.
3) Free the prisoners with Padre
Navigate to the third marker and speak with the Padre. From above, you can use the smoke bomb near the guards blocking the pathway to the prison cells. Using that distraction, head inside and continue to the end. Once again, you can use the smoke bomb and assassinate several guards, then execute the rest to free the prisoners there.
Reach Maynard’s warship and plant charges
When all objectives are completed, return to the seashore and board Maynard’s warship on your own. Climb from the back side to avoid the enemies, then reach the objective marker and interact to head down inside.
Next, you need to ignite the explosives in three different locations. Proceed to the objective marker following that, then read the letter on the table to learn about Maynard’s treasure. When done, reach the rendezvous point at the dock.
Reach Maynard’s treasure
Head into the burning town and go near Maynard’s house to start a fight against the Templars. Defeat all of them, then return to the previous location at the dock to trigger a cutscene. After that, you have to reach the Jackdaw and take the wheel.
Destroy Maynard’s armada
The next part is a full-on naval battle against Maynard’s allied ships. Take them out one by one, and make sure to create space so that you don’t get overwhelmed by every enemy ship at once. You can also board some of those to repair the Jackdaw. A new cutscene triggers when the enemy armada is defeated.
How to disable the HMS Ipswich
To disable the HMS Ipswich during the A World Without Gold quest in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you need to wait for the barrels to pop up around the enemy ship. After that, shoot at them using the swivel gun to deal damage.
That said, make sure to destroy the small ships to clear the area beforehand. Also, brace appropriately for enemy attacks to mitigate damage taken. When the HMS Ipswich’s health bar is diminished, crash into it (ram) to board the ship.
Robert Maynard boss fight
The fight is quite straightforward, as you need to simply dodge the red attacks and parry the blue ones to stagger him and deal damage subsequently. Make sure to kill the weaker enemies first to make the primary boss fight easier.
After defeating Maynard, a cutscene will be triggered. When it ends, the A World Without Gold questline in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will come to an end.
