A legendary WWE manager has slammed Roman Reigns for his actions. The OTC1 has been dominating the scene on RAW with a reunited Bloodline and has added Jacob Fatu to his ranks.
Apart from this, Reigns is one of the company’s biggest stars, and hence it was no surprise to see him in attendance for the UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House on June 14. He joined WWE chief content officer Triple H and company president Nick Khan on the South Lawn of the President’s House.
Thanks for the submission!
But the current World Heavyweight Champion has come under fire for his appearance. Speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, legendary manager Jim Cornette slammed Reigns for attending the event. He said Reigns is a big star and could have declined from being present at the event.
“Roman Reigns, he’ll go to Saudi Arabia. He’ll go to the White House. He’ll go wherever they’ll pay him. He’s just an attention wh*re. Just a f*cking goddamn, ‘I’ll go anywhere and lend my credibility to anything. He’s a big enough star. He could have said no f*cking way to the White House. So, we now know he’s one of them and what he’s all about. Boring and questionable values,” he said.
Jim Cornette has been a fierce critic of Donald Trump, and thus WWE’s close association with him and its stars attending the UFC event at the White House was hardly going to get any love from him.
Earlier, actor and professional wrestler Paul Walter Hauser also slammed Roman Reigns for showing up at UFC Freedom 250, labeling him an “actual dork.”
Former WWE star defends Roman Reigns
While Roman Reigns faced criticism in some circles for showing up at the White House, former WWE star Ryback defended the Tribal Chief.
In a post on X, he noted that Reigns is the company’s biggest star, and it would have looked bad had he not attended the event after being invited.
He said that going to an event should not define anybody’s character, saying that people judge too quickly and there is enough negativity. Ryback’s comments come as a surprise given his criticism of the promotion and some of its stars over the years.
