With the third installment of the Bizzy Bees update 2026, Grow a Garden introduced several new pets, eggs, and crafting materials into the game. Among them, the Black Spotty Dragon is a unique critter offering an exclusive mutation. Unlike most pets in the game, this pet can only be obtained from the Black Spotty Egg, which itself is one of only two Eggs in this title that contains a single guaranteed pet.
This article covers everything about the Black Spotty Dragon, including its abilities, uses, and how to obtain it in Grow a Garden.
What does the Black Spotty Dragon do in Grow a Garden?

The Black Spotty Dragon is a Prismatic rarity mutation-focused pet that comes with a passive ability called Striking Spots. Using this passive, the dragon occasionally releases pink and blue spots on nearby fruits and applies the Spotty mutation to them.
Since mutated crops usually sell for higher values and offer improved multipliers, the Black Spotty Dragon can provide a decent farming boost over time. However, compared to some of the stronger event pets currently available, its overall farming efficiency is considered moderate rather than overpowered.
Because of this, many players mainly use the Black Spotty Dragon as a cosmetic pet due to its unique visual design and rare status. It is suggested to be equipped in extra pet slots instead of being used as part of a primary farming setup.
How to Get the Black Spotty Dragon in Grow a Garden

The Black Spotty Dragon can only be obtained by hatching the Black Spotty Egg. Since the egg contains only one pet, opening it guarantees the Black Spotty Dragon with a 100% hatch chance.
To get the Black Spotty Egg, players must craft it through the Crafting Station located at the far end of the island. The crafting process takes around four hours to complete.
The required materials are:
- x1 Rare Egg
- x1 Octobloom Seed
- x1 Zebra Zinkle Seed
- x1 Crimson Thorn Seed
- x1,000,000,000,000,000 Sheckles
Players can also directly purchase the Black Spotty Egg for 829 Robux or Trade Tokens.
