Arsenal forward Stina Blackstenius has signed a new contract with the club.
Reports suggest Blackstenius, who joined from Swedish side BK Hacken in 2022, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the Emirates.
Blackstenius wrote her name into the club’s history last season, scoring the winner in the Champions League final against Barcelona to secure Arsenal the trophy.
The Swede is Arsenal’s second-highest goalscorer in the Women’s Super League this term, netting seven goals despite starting just six games.
She is averaging a goal every 98.7 minutes and has also registered three assists in the league.
“Obviously, I’m really happy signing this new contract,” she said.
“I’ve been in the club for a long time now, but I’m so happy to stay for some more time. I love playing for Arsenal and love the club, love the team, and I’m just so excited for what’s ahead.
“The supporters we have, I feel like they always show up no matter what, and it’s hard to describe because it really means so much for us as a team. I feel like they always have our back, no matter the game.
“I feel like they’re always so loud, cheering us on, and it has helped us in so many games, so I feel like we’re really lucky to have supporters like that, and it’s huge that we have that almost every game.”
Overall, Blackstenius has scored 64 goals in 152 appearances for Arsenal – including the winner in the 2024 League Cup final against Chelsea.
She has won four major trophies with the Gunners, including two League Cups, the Champions League and the 2026 Champions Cup, triumphing in every final she has played in at the club.
Blackstenius finished as Arsenal’s top-scorer in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
