The seemingly endless standoff between Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers took another turn following the player’s latest explosive social media tirade. In a series of posts on his Instagram story on Tuesday, he accused the 49ers of deliberately lying about the timeline of his voided guarantees.
The 28-year-old added that he will not be reinstating with the 49ers and ruled out any chance of doing business with the franchise again.
Thanks for the submission!
“I will not be reinstating with them nor ever doing any kind of business with them,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m locked in and focused on my opportunity to return to the field this season!”

Reinstatement is a necessary step for the star wide receiver to return to the team’s reserve/left squad list. If he indeed refuses to reinstate, the 49ers can leave him on the left squad list. While this would retain him on the team, he wouldn’t count against roster space nor receive any pay.
Meanwhile, Brandon Aiyuk went into finer details of his dispute with the 49ers than he has ever revealed before.
“When the news finally came out that my guarantees were voided in November,” Aiyuk wrote on Instagram. “The team continued to lie to the media/fan base acting as if that was not a decision that was made in July. Continually saying that I would be returning, despite that fact that I told them on numerous occasions that I would not be. With the severity of my injury and guarantees no longer on the table that was not an option.
“We are 1 year from the date in which they made the decision to void my guarantees due to ‘missed rehab’ yet they have the footage and the gps information that shows I reached markers I never hit even before injury. All before the required recovery time ordered by the surgeon.”
Where will Brandon Aiyuk likely play next?
With his relationship with the 49ers irreparably damaged, Brandon Aiyuk’s NFL future is almost certainly away from the franchise. The wide receiver noted this in his latest rant, referencing an opportunity to return to the gridiron this season.
Although he initially cozied up to the Washington Commanders, there isn’t enough corresponding interest from the franchise at the moment. Besides, Aiyuk’s off-field drama, including an active arrest warrant, is likely to deter most NFL teams that might be interested in signing him.
