President Donald Trump bought this property in 2012 for approximately $150 million. In addition to this, reports have been that the US President has committed over $250 million in golf course upgrades through the Trump Organization to give it a more luxurious appearance. The course hosted the Cadillac Championship on a regular basis until 2016, when the circuit changed locations.
It was speculated that this change was due to business and political concerns surrounding the golf course. In recent years, the Trump National Doral has become a regular venue for LIV Golf competitions. Aside from golf, this venue has hosted other notable events, like the 2019 G7 Summit Proposal.
