Former AEW Star Issues Challenge

Former WWE United States Champion Ilja Dragunov recently departed WWE. The 32-year-old is a dominant in-ring competitor. He was in the Stamford-based company for seven years, and even though he didn’t hold many titles, his matches were unmissable.

Ilja Dragunov will be an asset to whichever wrestling promotion he joins. Many want to see him compete in NJPW’s G1 Climax tournament. Meanwhile, others want Tony Khan to sign him as soon as possible. AEW stars Kyle Fletcher and Tommaso Ciampa have already teased the Mad Dragon’s arrival in the Jacksonville-based company. Interestingly, another talented wrestler who was once in the promotion expressed the desire to face the former NXT Champion: Stu Grayson.

Former AEW star Stu Grayson recently released a statement on X where he wrote that Dragunov is at the top of his list of people he wants to wrestle again or wrestle for the first time.

“There are a lot of people I want to wrestle for the first time or wrestle again. Ilja Dragunov is at the top of that list,” wrote the AEW star.

Dragunov will be an excellent addition to All Elite Wrestling’s already strong roster. He could have captivating matches with popular stars like Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland, Kazuchika Okada, Darby Allin, MJF, Jay White, and Jon Moxley, among others. He is even worthy of winning the AEW World Title.

WWE star Trick Williams heaps praise on Ilja Dragunov

The Ilja Dragunov-Trick Williams NXT feud is nothing short of historic. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Williams showered the Mad Dragon with praise. He said that the 32-year-old brought out a side of him that he didn’t even know existed.

“I gotta say Ilja Dragunov man. I just happened to go back and watch those matches. Vengeance Day, the same day Melo turned on me and everything like that. And man, every single match I’ve had with Ilja Dragunov is just phenomenal. He pulled out a side of Trick Williams that I didn’t even know existed. You literally just in the ring and you going to fight. He demands that, and that’s what I needed to take my career to the next level,” he said.
