The Crimson Desert DLC adds ships to the game, allowing you to sail the game’s gorgeous seas and uncover new secrets. Before you can do so, however, you need to build a ship with the help of your comrades. The process of building a ship may seem a little complicated, thanks to the game’s cluster of menus.
If you’re jumping into the Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown DLC and struggling to build a ship, we have you covered. In this guide, we’ll go over how to construct your own ship in the DLC.
How to construct a ship in Crimson Desert DLC

Constructing a ship in the Crimson Desert DLC is a fairly simple process and can be started through an in-game menu. Follow the steps below to construct your ship in the game:
- You’ll first need to open your in-game map.
- Then locate any available ports on the map. We picked Port Delesyia, but any port will do.
- Click on the port and select Details.
- Here, you’ll need to head over to the Missions menu, where you’ll find the option for Shipbuilding.
- You can use the Shipbuilding menu to spend currency and assign comrades to build ships.
Your comrades build the ship for you. If your comrades are occupied with other building activities, you can hire new Contribution Workers. You’ll also need comrades with an Engineering skill to build the ship, so make sure you have a few comrades with this skill free to work.
The requirements for building the ship will be displayed on the right side of the Shipbuilding menu. When you’ve met the requirements and selected the workers, you can dispatch them, and they’ll build the ship for you within an allotted time slot. In our case, the ship took 12 in-game hours to build. We simply slept at the camp to speed this process up. Once this time period is up, your ship will be ready at the port you selected.
