The Lucky Locator is a new Sprite gizmo added to Fortnite in Chapter 7 Season 3, and can help you find a rare Sprite to add to your collection. With over 100 Sprites currently in-game, it might get difficult for players to find and extract them all, especially considering that some of the Sprites are extremely elusive.
The Lucky Locator can solve that issue, and help you find an extremely rare Sprite that you have been missing and cannot find anywhere on the island.
This article provides information on the Lucky Locator gizmo in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, as well as a guide on how to obtain and use it.
How can you get the Lucky Locator Gizmo in Fortnite?
As mentioned, the Lucky Locator gizmo can help you locate a Sprite that you have not yet found in this season. Fortunately, this gizmo is not locked behind any extensive quests or missions, and you can get it absolutely for free.
In order to get the free Lucky Locator reward, you will need to have mastered a total of 50 Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3. This includes Sprites that you have already mastered in the past, meaning that you can immediately obtain this reward if you have finished mastering 50 Sprites this season.
As of now, only one Lucky Locator is obtainable via the Sprite Mastery progression page, and it is unknown whether more of these will be available in the future (and by what means).
How does the Lucky Locator work?
The Lucky Locator gizmo works similarly to the Sprite Locator, with the only difference being that you have higher odds to get an unobtained Sprite by using the Lucky Locator.
Do note that in case you already have all the Sprites, you will get a random Sprite instead if you use this gizmo. Additionally, you are also unable to obtain Sprites that have not yet been released, or have been vaulted (such as the Gem Sprites, and the Ironmouse Sprite).
To use the Lucky Locator, simply open your Gizmo wheel (by long-pressing your Pickaxe button), and switch to the Lucky Locator gizmo. Hold down your Shoot/Fire button to use the gizmo, which will spawn a buried chest nearby.
Head to the chest and use your Pickaxe to dig it up and open it, following which you will obtain a Sprite that you have not yet collected this season.
