Insider reveals truth behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s viral moment with Alejandro Kirk

MLB insider Hazel Mae cleared the air after Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. found himself at the center of social media speculation during the team’s 7-4 loss to the Texas Rangers on Saturday. She explained that an awkward moment involving teammate Alejandro Kirk was simply the result of a “wardrobe malfunction.”

The incident took place in the sixth inning after Alejandro Kirk launched a solo homer off Rangers pitcher Joe Ross. As the catcher returned to the dugout, Guerrero appeared to be waiting with the Blue Jays’ signature home run jacket, but Kirk walked past him without stopping.

“Ok guys, just wanted to set the record straight here…what happened was the sleeve on the HR jacket was inside out and Vladdy was trying to fix it. Kirk was already by the dugout and didn’t want to stand there and wait. Really no drama here. Just a wardrobe malfunction 😂,” MLB insider Hazel Mae noted.

The clip quickly went viral, prompting fans to speculate that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had been snubbed and that there was tension between the two teammates. The insider, however, dismissed those claims, revealing there was no underlying drama behind the interaction.

Blue Jays manager hails Alejandro Kirk after standout return from injured list

Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider was full of praise for Alejandro Kirk following the catcher’s impressive return from the 60-day injured list in mid-June. Kirk collected three hits, drove in two runs and reached base four times in Toronto’s 8-5 victory over the New York Yankees, making an immediate impact on both sides of the ball.

“He’s just steady. He’s one of one. It’s great to have him back for a variety of reasons…There’s always a domino effect. It’s really good to have that kind of bat in our lineup, so I think it can rub off,” manager John Schneider said.

So far, the 27-year-old catcher has recorded two home runs and seven RBIs, while slashing .183/.231/.548 in 60 at-bats. The Toronto Blue Jays are currently third in the AL East, trailing the Yankees and the division-leading Tampa Bay Rays with a 39-45 record.
