Jayden Seales uproots Virat Kohli’s middle stump for a golden duck in IND vs WI 2026 3rd ODI [Watch]

West Indies seamer Jayden Seales delivered a crucial blow by castling India veteran Virat Kohli for a golden duck in the third and final ODI. The game is being played on Saturday, October 3, at the PCA International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.

The wicket fell on the fourth ball of the third over. Seales bowled a 136.5kph full delivery, which Kohli attempted to flick across the line. However, the ball sneaked through the gap between his bat and pad and crashed into the middle stump, uprooting it.

The 37-year-old failed to open his account, registering his first ODI golden duck since December 18, 2019, which also came against West Indies. Kohli finished the series with 168 runs to his credit, including a hundred in the first game, where he made an unbeaten 139.

Rohit Sharma-Ruturaj Gaikwad steady India after Virat Kohli’s wicket

Opting to bat first, India endured a poor start, losing captain Shubman Gill for one off six deliveries on the third ball of the third over, with Jayden Seales taking his wicket. The seamer struck again off the very next legal delivery, dismissing Virat Kohli for a golden duck.

Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad then joined forces to steady the innings, with the latter getting a reprieve when Shai Hope dropped him on five in the 11th over. Gaikwad was dropped again on nine, this time by youngster Vitel Lawes at fine leg in the 13th over, with the missed chance also resulting in a six.

Both Rohit and Gaikwad have looked to break the shackles with a few big hits in between, with the former bringing up his half-century off 58 balls. At the time of writing, India were 82/2 after 18 overs, with Rohit on 50 off 58 balls and Gaikwad on 29 off 43 balls.
