NAPERVILLE, IL – JVA is proud to announce the launch of the JVA Boys National Championship, a new tournament created to support the rapid growth of boys volleyball and deliver a national championship experience built around competition, value, and long-term investment in the sport.
The inaugural JVA Boys National Championship will take place from June 26 to July 3, 2027 in St. Louis, Missouri.
St. Louis will play a key role in shaping the experience. JVA is working with local partners who are committed to enhancing the tournament for athletes, Coaches, Club Directors, and families through strong hospitality, thoughtful support, and a championship environment built to serve the growth of boys volleyball.
Boys volleyball is not waiting for its moment. It is already here. Across the country, more athletes are playing, more clubs are building boys programs, and more communities are recognizing what those inside the sport have known for years: boys volleyball has major momentum and its future is only getting bigger.
As the sport continues to grow, JVA is committed to creating opportunities that match that momentum. The JVA Boys National Championship was shaped by years of listening to Club Directors, Coaches, and leaders in the boys volleyball community. Their priorities were clear: strong competition, clear communication, fair structure, meaningful value, and an organization that understands the work clubs are doing every day to grow the game.
“This championship is about building something the boys volleyball community has been asking for,” said Lisa Wielebnicki, JVA Executive Director. “The growth of boys volleyball belongs to the clubs, Coaches, athletes, and families who invested in it long before the rest of the country started paying attention. Our job is to listen, support, and create a tournament experience that reflects where this sport is going.”
A key part of the JVA Boys National Championship will be a give-back funding program designed to reinvest in boys volleyball and support growth at multiple levels of the game. Through this initiative, JVA will help create more opportunities for clubs, athletes, and communities while strengthening the pipeline from grassroots participation to elite competition.
As a nonprofit organization, JVA gives back more than $500,000 dollars each year to clubs and programs through funding, grants, education, resources, and support that strengthen junior volleyball. The JVA Boys National Championship will allow JVA to expand those opportunities and create new ways to reinvest directly into the future of volleyball.
JVA’s goal is not simply to host a National Championship. The goal is to build a tournament that gives back to the sport, supports the clubs driving its growth, and creates a space where athletes are celebrated and valued.
“Clubs should feel supported, not processed,” said Steve Bailey, Managing Director of Events & Development. “JVA was built by Club Directors for Club Directors, and that will continue to guide how we approach this National Championship. We want this tournament to be competitive, well-run, and meaningful. We also want it to be part of something bigger: growing boys volleyball the right way.”
The JVA Boys National Championship will reflect JVA’s ongoing commitment to improving the junior volleyball experience through thoughtful tournament standards, club-first decision-making, and opportunities that move the sport forward. From the competition format to the overall environment, JVA is focused on creating a National Championship that recognizes the investment clubs make all season long and gives athletes a national stage worthy of their work.
More details about the JVA Boys National Championship, including divisions, registration information, competition format, and the give-back funding program, will be announced soon.
