Sean Strickland is keen to fight once he is back to full fitness, however, who he fights next is the big question that is being asked.
While Khamzat Chimaev lost the belt to Strickland via split decision at UFC 328, ‘Borz’ hinted he might move up a weight class before claiming he wanted a rematch.
Nassourdine Imavov is one option for the middleweight champion too, but Strickland is out with a shoulder injury and is undergoing therapy.
Strickland has also been active on social media and answered his fans over who he will fight next. ‘Tarzan’ claimed that his shoulder isn’t 100% healed and he needs a bit of time. However, the champion was keen on taking Chimaev again, especially since ‘Borz’ had been making a lot of noise recently:

Strickland broke Chimaev’s undefeated MMA run at UFC 328, and there was a lot of bad blood between the fighters before the clash.
However, the pair seemed to have respect for each other right before the clash, and after the loss, Chimaev was the one who wrapped the belt around Strickland’s waist.
Strickland even apologized for taking things too far with some of the comments made before the fight.
Nassourdine Imavov explains why he wants to fight Sean Strickland
While it is to be seen who the UFC will set Sean Strickland up against, Nassourdine Imavov hit out at the champion and shared why he wants to fight the American.
The Frenchman is undefeated in his last six fights, and the No.3-ranked UFC middleweight told Jaiden Cable that the promotion wants him to fight for the belt:
“Of course, my next fight is [for] the belt. Before the fight with Strickland and Khamzat, I wanted to fight Dricus [Du Plessis] to stay active, and the UFC told me I could fight only for the belt. After Khamzat vs. Strickland, I’m 100% fighting for the belt.”
He also took shots at Strickland:
“I do not like him. He’s not a good person. He talks sh*t every day. We already fought before, and he insulted me several times. Even during his fight week with Khamzat, he called me a t*rrorist. It’s such bullsh*t that it’s hard not to want to rip his head off. It’s very personal. I think he’s the only fighter in the UFC where it’s so personal.”
