Rhea Ripley Shares One-Word Message Ahead Of WWE SmackDown

WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley shared a message heading into Friday Night SmackDown. The upcoming edition of the blue brand’s show will air from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Eradicator’s last in-ring appearance was at Clash in Italy, where she successfully defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill. Unfortunately, on the following episode of SmackDown, the former member of The Judgment Day stated that she was banged up from her match and has been absent from WWE programming ever since. Ripley later revealed that she suffered a slight tear in her meniscus.

Amid her absence, the 29-year-old took to Instagram Stories to post a mirror selfie taken in a gym. She further shared a one-word message.

“Welp…” Ripley wrote.

Amid Ripley’s absence, Adam Pearce announced that since the Aussie would be unable to defend her title at SummerSlam, a new Interim WWE Women’s Champion would be crowned at the premium live event. On Night Two of the Biggest Party of the Summer, Chelsea Green defeated Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, and Lash Legend in a five-woman ladder match to win the gold.

Rhea Ripley spoke about her injury amid WWE hiatus

In an interview with Nina-Maria Daniele at Power Slap 21, Rhea Ripley opened up about her injury. The SmackDown star pointed out that she suffered a slight tear in her meniscus.

Rhea noted that since the tear was in a weird spot, she couldn’t be sure when she would make her return. The Nightmare added that although she was getting better, she still could not bend her knee.

“I am. I’m [injured], sorry, I’m, unfortunately… I hurt my knee. I’ve got a slight tear in my meniscus, so it’s just healing. It’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. But I can’t bend it right now, so I kind of need it to bend, guys. I don’t know. I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of a little bit up in the air, with just like how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for just over a month and one week. It feels better, but it still starts to hurt and throb. It gets tired. I can’t get up or bend down really slow, so I kind of move side to side while crouching so it sucks. We will see how it goes,” Ripley said.

Only time will tell when Rhea Ripley makes her return from injury and wrestles Chelsea Green in a championship unification match.
