South Africa v Canada: World Cup 2026 commentary, updates, goals and stats for first knockout stage clash

The round of 32 at the World Cup gets underway this evening when co-hosts Canada take on South Africa in Los Angeles.

Jesse Marsch’s side wanted to remain in Vancouver but a 2-1 defeat to Switzerland last time out meant they had to make the trip south to California.

South Africa will just be relieved to be through after a victory over South Korea in the final round of matches in Group A.

Bafana Bafana are the underdogs but won’t be underestimated.
