“They all hate JYPE” – Fans speculate Nayeon’s future with the agency after her mother’s heartfelt message amid TWICE contract renewal discussions

As TWICE continues discussions over its next contract renewal, member Nayeon has become the latest member at the center of speculation about her future with JYP Entertainment. The conversation began shortly after TWICE concluded its THIS IS FOR world tour on July 12, 2026, at the KSPO Dome in Seoul.

To celebrate her daughter’s journey, Nayeon’s mother shared photos with the singer on Instagram alongside an emotional note reflecting on her years as both a trainee and a member of the group. In the message, she wrote,

“It was here when mom got all choked up. 20 odd years from the 11 years of TWICE all the way back to when you were all trainees. You poured all of (the years) into your youth and dreams. Seeing the results of your achievements you all made in this place, it’ll be weird if tears didn’t come. The amazing TWICE recognised by ONCEs, recognised by parents. Now is the time for you girls to finally be properly celebrated and treated. 9WICE has that right.”

Although the post did not mention JYP Entertainment by name, many fans interpreted the message as reflecting Nayeon’s mother’s thoughts on the agency that has managed the group throughout its career. Those remarks quickly fueled online speculation.

Some fans interpreted her words as a possible indication that Nayeon could leaving the agency. However, neither Nayeon nor her mother suggested that she planned to leave JYP Entertainment, and the post itself did not make any direct reference to contract negotiations either.

The timing of the message has nevertheless drawn further attention, as TWICE is currently in the middle of renewal discussions with JYP Entertainment. Over the past days, multiple members of the girl group have also been linked to similar rumors of leaving the agency.

So, as screenshots of Nayeon’s mother’s post spread across social media platforms, fans shared their opinions and theories. Some viewed the message as a heartfelt tribute to Nayeon’s long career, while others speculated about what it could mean for her future with the agency. One comment on X read,

Jihyo, Tzuyu, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung also linked to agency change rumors amid TWICE contract renewal talks

Meanwhile, Nayeon is not the only TWICE member whose future with JYP Entertainment has been the subject of recent speculation. Just the day before on July 14, several members have been linked to reports suggesting potential changes to their individual management while continuing to promote together as the group.

The most recent report involved the group’s leader Jihyo. On the day, South Korean media outlet JoyNews24 reported that the singer had decided against renewing her individual contract with JYP Entertainment. According to the report, she was preparing to establish a one-person agency to oversee her solo career.

The report further claimed that the change would affect only Jihyo’s solo promotions, with TWICE’s group activities expected to remain under JYP Entertainment. Following the reports, JYP Entertainment addressed the speculation.

According to STARNEWS, the agency stated that TWICE was currently in the middle of its contract renewal period and that discussions with the members are ongoing. The company added that it would share an official statement once the renewal process was finalized.

Earlier reports also suggested that Tzuyu could adopt a similar structure by managing her solo activities through a different agency while remaining a member of the girl group. However, JYP Entertainment also not confirmed those claims and continued to maintain that negotiations were still underway.

Jeongyeon likewise became linked to rumors of leaving the agency after reports claimed she had met with Varo Entertainment. Varo Entertainment acknowledged that a meeting had taken place, the agency clarified that no decision regarding an exclusive contract had been made.

Adding to the ongoing speculation, Chaeyoung has also reportedly held discussions with outside entertainment companies, prompting further debate among fans about the future management of the group’s individual activities.

Despite the growing number of reports surrounding several members, none of the rumored agency changes have been officially confirmed. At present, JYP Entertainment has reiterated that contract renewal discussions with TWICE are still in progress, with the agency expected to announce the outcome once negotiations are complete.
