Tennis enthusiasts were recently left in shock after ex-pro Nicolas Xiviller was arrested for violent behaviour in a racket shop. Fans were quick to condemn the Uruguayan for his conduct while demanding accountability from the 27-year-old.
On Friday, July 24, Xiviller arrived at the Tennis Plaza in Doral, Florida. While there, the former ATP pro picked up a racket and swung it around aggressively, with the racket eventually getting stuck in a clothing rack before breaking as Xiviller pulled it free forcefully. The player was then approached by an employee and asked to leave, but he picked up another racket and smashed it into the ground. The Uruguayan eventually left after punching and headbutting the door of the store and was later arrested by Doral Police on Sunday.

Reacting to footage of the incident on Instagram, one fan wrote,
“This aggressive behavior must stop! He should reimburse the store fully and pay up for the distress he caused those employees. Not acceptable behavior in any civilized society!”

ATP Tennis Updates: Quentin Halys and Luca Van Assche clinch titles in Kitzbuhel and Estoril
On the tournament end of things, Quentin Halys and Luca Van Assche were crowned champions at the ATP 250 events held in Kitzbuhel and Estoril last week.
Halys kicked off his campaign at the Generali Open with a dominant win over Laslo Djere. The Frenchman then disposed of Valentin Vacherot and Mariano Navone before emerging victorious over Yannick Hanfmann in his semifinals encounter. Halys outdid top seed and World No.11 Alexander Bublik 6-4, 7-6(6) to clinch the first title of his career.
Elsewhere, 22-year-old Luca Van Assche enjoyed an incredible run at the Millennium Estoril Open. The youngster clinched wins over the likes of Pablo Carreno Busta, Andrey Rublev and Alexander Blockx to win his maiden ATP title and jump up 30 steps in the ranking ladder.
