“Tony Khan is not worried”

There has been a lot of speculation about AEW’s TV future. MJF has now commented on the situation.

AEW has had a TV deal in place with Warner Bros. Discovery for the past several years. However, Paramount/Skydance acquired WBD recently. This has led to a lot of speculation that WBD won’t renew its deal with AEW since Paramount has ties to TKO, which is WWE’s parent company.

MJF addressed the situation in a recent interview with Jon Alba on The Takedown on SI. He said that Tony Khan is not worried about losing AEW’s TV deal with WBD since the executives at Warner Bros. Discovery are happy with how the Jacksonville-based promotion is performing. He also said that Tony Khan and Paramount/Skydance CEO David Ellison are good friends, and he doesn’t see how this TV deal could fall through.

“I am not worried. Tony Khan is not worried. I’m especially not worried because, again, Warner Brothers Discovery is over the moon with how we are performing right now.” [H/T istomatoafruit on X]

MJF wants to wrestle in Madison Square Garden

MJF is one of the best homegrown talents in AEW. He has achieved a lot since signing with the promotion and is widely regarded as one of the best heels in the business. Maxwell has also accomplished a lot in this business. However, there is still one goal he has yet to achieve.

During an interview with TV Insider’s Scott Fishman, Maxwell said that it has been a big goal of his to wrestle in Madison Square Garden. He also said that the company would be able to sell out MSG if he were in the main event.

“That’s my Mecca. I know we’d sell it out easy. It would be a joke, especially if I’m in the main event. That’s a big goal of mine to wrestle in MSG. I’ve managed to accomplish the old checklist in this industry, but the scary thing is I’m doing a speed run. There is not much left. MSG is definitely on that list,” said.

MJF will compete in a hair vs. title match for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2026.
