Triple H Cancels Highly Anticipated WWE Championship Match

Just hours before Monday Night RAW, WWE has canceled a highly anticipated championship match. Given that Triple H has the final say on all things creative on the main roster, he seems to have made the call to make this late change.

IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez had been announced for this week’s edition of RAW, following weeks of in-ring confrontations between the two. WWE.com had advertised it as a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, which was consistent with the storyline after SKY pinned Rodriguez last week.

However, the website’s preview of their match now explicitly states that the Women’s IC Title will not be on the line. No explanation has been given for this quiet change. It also isn’t known if the announcement of it being a title match was a mistake or not.

This move may disappoint a lot of fans who were looking forward to IYO SKY potentially winning the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. As of now, that may or may not happen, but one thing is certain. The Genius of the Sky will not win the title tonight.

WWE RAW Tonight Has a Stacked Women’s Lineup

IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez isn’t the only women’s match announced for RAW. Two other major storylines will come to a head tonight, including one that has slowly become personal.

Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer will face off in a Number One Contender’s Match, with the winner getting the first shot at Liv Morgan and the Women’s World Championship. Their relationship has completely broken down since Vaquer lost the title at Money in the Bank.

Morgan will be waiting patiently while she continues to prepare for her upcoming Crown Jewel Championship match. As things stand, Liv is set to face Chelsea Green on November 7th, but that will change if Nikki Bella wins the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown this week.

Elsewhere, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria are set to do battle in a No Disqualification Match. The Role Model is 0-2 against her former tag team partner, so she will be looking for redemption. The outcome of this match may reveal whether Bayley is staying in WWE or leaving at the end of her contract.
