Violence District The Cure guide

The Cure is the featured Killer of the Violence District Cure Update, available as an unlockable option. This Killer specializes in laying traps for the Survivors and defeating them by transforming them into minions. The Cure can effectively box Survivors in with ease and make short work of them, which is a non-standard play style for Killers in this experience.

The Cure can be unlocked for 15,000 Screws, making him the most expensive Killer in the game. Getting the required amount of Screws can take a while through regular matches, so be sure to keep your Screws unspent until you reach the required threshold.

Abilities and Perks

He has access to two skills: Elucidation and I Am The Cure. Here’s what they do:

  • Elucidation (15-second cooldown): Chargeable flask throw, which creates a gas cloud at the point of impact; Survivors caught in it are slowed by 30% and receive the Pestilence status effect. For each Survivor with Pestilence, The Cure receives a 5% break and vault speed boost. Pestilence expires after 90 seconds.
  • I Am The Cure: Inject downed Survivors and corpses. Survivors can only be injected once per spike stage; if injected before their first spike, they receive a 4% movement speed debuff. After the first spike, they receive a 6% repair speed reduction debuff. The injected Survivor is transformed into a minion (SCP) after the second spike. SCPs move at 9 studs per second to hunt Survivors, which increases to 15 studs per second when chasing a Pestilence-infected Survivor. SCP attacks inflect Pestilence, which can snowball quite quickly. Up to 4 SCPs can be active on the map at any time, and their auras are always visible to The Cure. The 4 SCP limit is only applicable to transformed corpses; SCP Survivors have no such limit.

The Cure has access to these Perks by default:

  • Foundation Staff: When a Survivor removes themselves or another Survivor from a spike, they receive a healing speed reduction of up to 40%, based on the number of times they were spiked. Any Survivor who was removed from a spike receives a 15% repair speed debuff until they are healed.
  • Sustenance: Whenever a Survivor is spiked, The Cure receives a Token. Upon breaking a Pallet, the token is consumed, reducing the movement speeds of all Survivors within The Cure’s terror radius by 10% for up to six seconds. Any affected Survivors receive the Silenced status effect for up to 35 seconds as well, temporarily disabling their Perks.
  • Desire for the Living: If a Survivor activates a Perk that displays The Cure’s aura, the Killer is able to spot theirs as well. Upon receiving a speed boost, The Cure’s aura is revealed to the nearest Survivor for three seconds. This Perk has a cooldown of up to 40 seconds.

As a general rule of thumb, The Cure is best used to set up SCPs as soon as possible through injections. To this end, remember to find corpses littered across the level to inject and transform them.

Once you do so, begin using Elucidation as traps rather than an active combat tool. That way, you will find more opportunities to spread Pestilence and even trick the Survivors into getting spiked. The sooner you begin transforming the Survivors into SCPs, the better your odds of victory will be.

The Cure’s presence on the field is unmatched, so be sure to familiarize yourself with his kit to use him effectively in matches.
