DJ Akademiks went on a social media rant after Jay-Z dissed Drake at the 2026 Roots Picnic. The Roc Nation founder headlined the event at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, May 30.
Drizzy dissed Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, on his new album, ICEMAN, released on May 15. He took digs at him on three songs: Janice STFU, Whisper My Name, and Make Them Pay. Carter slapped back via digs of his own at the 2026 Roots Picnic on Saturday.
However, this led to a tirade of posts from DJ Akademiks on X (formerly Twitter). The streamer is known to be a big Drake fan and also supported him during his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar. On Saturday, he took numerous digs at Jay-Z’s performance. He first wrote:
“At least we know Jay Z a fan of ICEMAN. It’s okay champ.”
He then tweeted:
“Jay Z literally went to rap for 4 minutes acapella cuz he thought Drake dissed him on iceman. Bro.. got a whole yankee stadium show he coulda done it at but iceman bars getting to him he ran to Philly to get it off his chest .”
Akademiks wrote in another post:
“Jay Z went from saying he off rap battles to getting triggered he went on stage to spit a 4 minute diss rap to drake? Na … iceman really got n****s acting out of order.”
He also tweeted:
“Jay Z spiraling cuz Drake passed him on the charts w ICEMAN wasn’t on my bingo card . . .”
This was in reference to Drizzy becoming the only solo male artist to have 15 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200. He surpassed Carter on the list and got level with Taylor Swift in the list of all artists. The Beatles top the list with 19.

The Canadian rapper took digs at Carter in three songs from his ICEMAN album. It was one of the three albums he released on May 15, alongside Maid of Honour and Habibti.
On the song, Janice STFU, Drake rapped:
“You boys got big on my name, that’s big enough … we know how you OGs rocking already my n****, the jig is up.”
On Whisper My Name, he rapped:
“I’ll take $500K, not the dinner, I never could learn sh*t from none of y’all.”
He further said on Make Them Pay:
“You n****s run and talk to Hov for a second opinion. Me, I stood ten Ts, and accepted the mission.”
Taking digs at Drizzy, Jay-Z then rapped on stage at the 2026 Roots Picnic:
“A rapper can’t be my opp. The jig is up, n**** I’m up 10, wrong chart champ you gotta look up again, n****s looked up to Hov, I never looked up to them. Them crackers got your publishing checks, go talk tough to them, don’t talk success to me, you n****s is workers, in perpetuity is how your contract is worded.”
Drake and Jay-Z have had a complicated relationship over the years. They have collaborated on tracks like Light Up (2010) and Love All (2021), but have also had slammed each other numerous times.
