xQc slams community meltdown over GTA 6 price

xQc is not holding back on the GTA 6 price controversy, and his reaction to the community’s ongoing meltdown is exactly what you would expect from one of the most outspoken streamers in the space. With the game under six months out from its PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launch, fan frustration over Rockstar’s pricing decisions has been building fast, and the popular streamer has a say on it.

This article breaks down what xQc said about the GTA 6 price backlash and why this is not the first time he has stepped in to defend Rockstar.

xQc fires back at GTA 6 price complaints

The backlash stems from a few specific grievances that fans have been vocal about. These include a $100 Ultimate Edition GTA 6 price point, physical copies issue, and broader concerns about how Rockstar is handling the game’s content rollout ahead of launch.

A clip capturing xQc’s unfiltered reaction to all of this was shared by fan account @bloomjpg on X, and it quickly made the rounds. His take was:

“If the game was 30 bucks people would complain about it. If they underpriced their game they’d ruin their own hype. These guys don’t follow the market, they ARE the market.”

He also told critics to ‘Take a micro, macro economics class,’ which pretty much sums up exactly how seriously he is taking the outrage. On the physical disc situation specifically, his response was even more straightforward: ‘Move on.’

xQc addressed the GTA 6 price debate before

What stands out here is that this is not a new position for xQc. He went through a near-identical moment last year when the game’s release price first started generating backlash online. At the time, he posted a meme on X that took a pointed jab at those expressing disappointment over the cost.

The caption he reposted read:

“Gamers will buy 5 early access, half baked $140 games and sprinkle $300 worth of skins in a year, but when a AAA company goes all out and take their time to make the most anticipated polished product we know they can make, suddenly $100 is too much? Stop talking.”

That post struck a nerve when it went up, and the argument he made then is the same one he is making now. The consistency makes it clear that it is a position he has held and defended the GTA 6 price more than once.
