Fan-favorite AEW star shockingly unmasks himself; leaves his stablemates shocked

A popular AEW star shockingly unmasked himself, leaving his partners in shock.

The aforementioned star in question is Bandido. The Jacksonville-based wrestling promotion presented a special edition of Dynamite, Grand Slam Mexico, from Arena Mexico, on August 5. The event was headlined by the huge bout where Hangman Adam Page teamed up with Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) to challenge The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) for the AEW World Trios Championships.

Ricochet and his squad won the titles from The Conglomeration on Dynamite last week and successfully defended them against The Rascalz. So, this match was their second title defense just a week after winning the gold. The match was an exciting back-and-forth affair and concluded with the challengers using a Buckshot Lariat and 21 Plex combo to defeat the opposition and become the new champions.

In a backstage video released by AEW on X, Hangman Page and Brodido were seen reflecting on their title win. As Brody King praised Hangman and his own personality, Bandido decided to lift his mask, even though his back was to the camera, so the viewers couldn’t see his face. He revealed it to his stablemates, who seemed shocked but admitted he looked good, not ugly. You can check out the video below:

Bandido is grateful to a top AEW star

Bandido had one of the most captivating rivalries with AEW top star Chris Jericho over the ROH World Championship in early 2025. It was a major television program that concluded with the masked star beating the Demo God to become champion.

In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Bandido showered praise on Jericho and said that working with him was a great experience.

“Working with him with awesome. When I see him, it’s like, ‘Thank you very much for everything’ because I think Jericho was one of the persons to change my life. I’m very grateful with him. The way of how he worked with me and my family, it’s amazing. We’re very thankful with him,” said the Mexican star. [H/T: Fightful]
