BANGKOK, Thailand — The FIVB Level 2 Coaches Course concluded successfully in Bangkok on October 9, bringing together 45 coaches from 10 National Federations for five days of intensive theoretical and practical training. The program aimed to enhance coaching expertise, strengthen technical knowledge and equip participants with the skills to advance volleyball development in their respective countries and beyond.
Organized through the collaboration of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA) and the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the course was held at the FIVB International Center of Excellence in Thailand. The training was led by FIVB Instructor G.E. Sridharan of India, alongside Assistant Instructor Mr. Weeramate Pherngsongkro of Thailand.
Mr. Shanrit Wongprasert, Honorary Life Secretary General of the Thailand Volleyball Association, presided over the closing ceremony on behalf of TVA President Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, who was unable to attend due to other volleyball-related engagements in southern Thailand.
The ceremony was also attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Songsak Chareonpong, Chairman of the TVA Referee Committee; Mr. Issara Riddhisinha, General Manager of the FIVB International Center of Excellence in Thailand; TVA Secretary General Mr. Nattapong Kesapan; FIVB Instructor G.E. Sridharan; and Assistant Instructor Mr. Weeramate Pherngsongkro.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Shanrit expressed his sincere appreciation to both instructors for their dedication, professionalism and commitment throughout the five-day program. He also commended all participating coaches for their enthusiasm, discipline and hard work in completing the demanding theoretical and practical sessions.
He emphasized that the true value of the course lies not only in the knowledge and skills acquired but also in how participants apply and share them to create a lasting impact on volleyball development.
“The participating coaches are expected to put the knowledge and skills gained during this course into practice in their respective countries. Beyond refining their own coaching methods, they are encouraged to share their experiences and newly acquired expertise with fellow coaches. By doing so, they can help strengthen local coaching communities, improve player development pathways and broaden opportunities for people to participate in volleyball at all levels,” Mr. Shanrit said.
He also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Ramkhamhaeng University Sports Office and the FIVB International Center of Excellence in Thailand, particularly Mr. Issara, for their excellent preparation, invaluable support and warm hospitality throughout the program.
Concluding his remarks, Mr. Shanrit wished all participants a safe journey home and expressed his hope that they would return to the center for future coaching courses and technical seminars, continuing their pursuit of knowledge and professional development.
Following the presentation of certificates, the ceremony officially marked the conclusion of the FIVB Level 2 Coaches Course, bringing five days of learning, practical training and professional exchange to a successful close.
