AMDAVAD, India — Indonesia completed a remarkable run to the continental crown, defeating Korea in straight sets, 34-32, 25-16, 25-23, to win the AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup 2026 on Sunday at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Amdavad, India.
It marked Indonesia’s first-ever AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup title, capping an outstanding campaign that saw the Southeast Asian side rise to the top of Asia through disciplined teamwork, explosive offense, and composure in the biggest moments.
Indonesia overcame a fierce challenge in a marathon opening set before taking firm control of the match. After edging Korea 34-32 in an intense battle that featured numerous set points, the eventual champions dominated the second set 25-16 before closing out the contest 25-23 to seal the historic victory.
Tournament Most Valuable Player Arabi Boy Arnez once again led Indonesia’s charge with 17 points, built on 13 attacks and four service aces. In addition to being named MVP, Arnez also earned recognition as one of the tournament’s Best Outside Hitters following a consistently outstanding campaign.
Opposite Rama Fazza Fauzan added 15 points from 13 attacks and two aces, while Farhan Halim contributed 14 points, including 11 attacks and three blocks, providing Indonesia with balanced scoring throughout the championship match.
Korea fought valiantly in pursuit of the title and placed three players in double figures. Shin Hojin, who was named the tournament’s Best Opposite, led Korea with 15 attack points. Fellow Dream Team selection Jeong Hanyong finished with 12 points, including 10 attacks and two aces, while Lim Jaeyoung also scored 12 points.
Korea entered the final after an impressive tournament, having topped Pool B in the preliminary round before defeating Bahrain in four sets, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, in the semifinals.
Earlier in the day, host India secured the bronze medal with a four-set victory over Bahrain to complete the tournament podium.
The tournament’s individual honors recognized the competition’s top performers. Indonesia’s Arabi Boy Arnez was named Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter, alongside Korea’s Jeong Hanyong. Indonesia’s Kurniawan Hendra and Korea’s Park Changseong were selected as Best Middle Blockers, India’s Kottarathil Anand received the Best Libero award, Korea’s Shin Hojin was named Best Opposite, and Indonesia’s Daniel Pratama Alfin earned Best Setter honors.
The conclusion of the AVC Men’s Volleyball Cup 2026 once again showcased the depth and quality of men’s volleyball across Asia, with Indonesia emerging as continental champions after a memorable championship performance in Amdavad.
